Here comes February!!

We had our two year doctor's visit on the last day in January. For some reason the last few times we have gone to see Dr. Reyes Riley and Brianne throw a fit. And I mean screaming fits!!! He isn't even the one who gives them their shots and they still cry when he walks in the room. He is a great guy and I can't figure out why they are so scared of him but, they are.

Here is Brianne as soon as we went into the room. She went right under the table!! Lol!!

After we got home form the doctor's office it was nice enough to play outside.

Well, it officially February now and the weather keeps going from 70 degrees to 40 degrees. I never know whether to put shorts on the girls or long underwear.

Best Friends Forever!!!

This past Saturday was very confusing so the girls picked what they wanted to wear and here is what they came up with. They defintiely have mommy and daddy's fashion sense!

Later that morning, it was time to say "See you later" to Brad and Jodie. To back up just a little, Brad moved back to Pennsylvania this past weekend. His fiance Jodie flew down on Wednesday and they were driving back on Saturday!! I already told Brad and Jodie not to be offended by anything I say about the move but, I do want Brad to know that we are going to miss him so much. In fact, we already do and it's been four days. I was reading the blog from last Super Bowl, which was this weekend, and it was saying how Brad had made it safe and sound to Texas. I can't believe how much can change in a year. I am so excited and happy for both of them but, I will tell you that the Hupp's are going to be a little lost without "Cousin Eddy"!!! They made it to PA safely and are settling in. Brad starts his new job on Monday!!! We love you guys very much and are so excited for your new journey!!!!

Like I said before, it was Super Bowl weekend this past weekend and it ended up being New England vs. NY Giants. We went over to Lew and Debby's for the game and had a great time. The game wasn't very interesting until the last few minutes. The Giants ended up winning 21-17 which made Lew and Uncle Jason very very happy. It is amazing how relaxing the game can be when your team is not in it. It's definitely not as exciting but, a lot more relaxing!

My sister posted this on Facebook and I think it says it all!!!

Our favorite season of the year is now over. Can't wait for next year! I am starting to think that the girls are going to grow up thinking that there are five seasons in the year; spring, summer, fall, winter, and football!!! Lol!!!

I can't believe my babies are two already. It seems like yesterday that we brought them home from the hospital and no ides what to do with them. They have changed so much but, in some ways they haven't changed at all.

The have grown so much in the first two years of their lives and I am so proud of the little ladies that they are becoming. It is an amazing feeling to watch your children grow. I can't even remember our lives before they were born and I can't imagine our lives without them.

We started off celebrating their birthday week by going to a social at a gymnastics place. They loved jumping, swinging, running, rolling, etc. I am thinking that they are both going to be natural athletes. (Riley more so than "Grace" AKA Brianne)

We had their birthday party on Sunday at a place called "Jump Mania" It is open to the public during your party but fortunately for us there weren't many other people there. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. (You know us and 50 of our close friends.) Unfortunately Grandma and Grandpa Mahle could not be here this year for their actual birthday but, they are coming on February 22 and I know we will celebrate again!!! We had a great turn out for the party and I even heard a few people say that they are now going to have their kid's parties there. It was so much fun for everyone and I honestly mean everyone. I think some of the adults had more fun than some of the kids did. The girls are very confident on the stuff there and it makes it easy for me because I don't have to carry them to the top of the slide or go down with them every time. If they are able to climb it they will! I don't care who you were, everyone there was playing together. We truly do have great people in our lives down here in Texas.

The party consisted of 0 fights, 0 meltdowns, 21 happy kids, 21 happy sets of parents (because I am positive that all of the kids took great naps that afternoon) and only two injuries. Can anyone guess who the injuries were? Aaron and Brad both got burns from the slides on the back of their arms. Poor babies!!!

I want to thank everyone for coming and making their party so special. We missed all of our other family and friends that weren't able to come. We love you all!!!

Monday was their actual birthday and unfortunately mommy wasn't feeling all that great. We didn't do much during the day but, we did make our way to the VFW to say hi!!!

That evening we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Hupp's for a birthday dinner. Thank you to them for a great dinner and a great birthday celebrations. We love you!

Grandma and Grandpa got them baby dolls. And, these baby dolls are crazy. They actually suck a bottle, laugh when you tickle their feet and cry. The girls love them. Riley is such the little mommy. Bri is for a minute and them she gets bored.

So as you can see from these numbers, Riley is still a little bit bigger that Brianne but, they are both very tall. I always notice their height when we are with our friends but, now I know that they are almost off the charts. Bri is still my little peanut and Riley is the one with little leg muscles already. I love you girls very very much!

January fun!!

Since the holidays ended we have really slowed down. It's kind of nice to not have things to do everyday but, after a few days like that you NEED to get out and play.

Just to let everyone know the Steelers lost two weeks ago in the 1st round of the playoffs. We watched the game at Kim and Jason's and I sat in the exact same seat the entire game. (I guess I am pretty superstitious.) We ended up tying it up in the last minutes and it was super exciting. At the end of regular play time I thought I had a minute or two so I went and changed Brianne's diaper. Well, by the time I finished doing that and stood up, Tebow threw a pass and his receiver ran it for a touchdown!!! I was not in my chair. So sad but, that's how it goes sometimes. The last few weeks have been pretty exciting with the games and now we are waiting for the Super Bowl. This year will be Giants vs. Patriots. I hope they tie and both lose. Lol!!!I can't believe another football season has come and gone. I really think it is my favorite time of the year!!!

The weather has been so great the past few weeks so we have been able to get outside a lot. Riley and Brianne are loving the park and being in the back yard. They are finally at the age where they can be in the backyard by themselves. Don't worry I am always looking out the kitchen window. They love it out there and we officially have the backyard that we said we never would. Toys EVERYWHERE!!

Last Saturday we had a party at the VFW. It was our "Crusin through the decades" night. You could dress from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, etc. I decided to be Olivia Newton-John. Cute, huh? We had a great time and it was also a little going away party for Brad. Have I said that I am going to miss him yet? Well, I am!!!

Christmas in Ohio 2011 / Part II

So, I am back. FINALLY! Riley, Brianne, mommy, and daddy have all been sick for the last week. I think we are all making our way to the well side.

So, our vacation in Ohio continued on Thursday with a "mommy's and kids" Christmas party with some of my best girlfriends. We have all been friends since high school and I love being able to get together with them every time I go home!! I love you girls! It is so cool to see where we all are in life and more importantly to see the BEAUTIFUL children all of us have created. We did a little gift exchange with the kids and Molly had pizza for all of us. If was absolutely perfect AND, there was snow on the ground too. Again, the snow gives you the Christmas feeling. While we were having our party, Aaron, Dave (Katie's husband), and Jason (Kristen's husband) went out to lunch at BW3. (Of course!!) Then to the VFW in Strongsville!

As soon as I walked in Molly's house her son Noah ran upstairs and came down wearing this. We will ALWAYS have our Brown's/ Steeler's rivalry. Love it!!!!

That evening Grandpa Mahle watched Riley and Brianne (With some help from the Matthew bunch and then Grandma Mahle came home form work early. Thank you guys!!) and all of us girls took our husbands out. We went to a restaurant in Lakewood and then made our was to one of the Lakewood bars. I miss all of these guys so much and it was so great to be out and having some fun with all of them. I don't think any of us get out anywhere near as much as we used to so we were all pretty much done by midnight. Hey, at least we are all getting old together. Love you all!!!!

We started Friday by going to Uncle Mike's and Aunt Kate's to see them and Drew and Grant. This is another one of those things that I wish we could do every week.

After that we went to celebrate AJ Krynicki's 1st birthday. If any of you remember last year when we went to Hawaii, our friend Katie was VERY pregnant. Well, he turned 1 on January 5. Happy Happy Birthday AJ!! We love you!

Friday night we made our way over to Kris and Joe's. I still had not seen Becki or Chanin. I go home thinking I have all this time to see everyone and then it comes down to the last few days. I can't leave Ohio and not see some of my friends. Thank goodness both of them could make it over. The kids had a great time.

At this point in the trip I think we were all feeling a little worn down and now it was New Year's Eve!! Some more friends that we still hadn't seen were Amy and Mike. They have been renivating their house for the past year and they are finally done. We were very excited to see it. And, it is beautiful. You guys did a great job and it was well worth the wait. I ended up going to the restaurant that night to help out while Aaron, Dad, the girls, Katie and her crew, and Kris and her crew hung out at the house. I was bar-tending so I didn't have to stay the whole night. I don't know if I have said this yet but, I truly do miss working at the restaurant. I love the feeling you get on those busy nights, the feeling you get when you make the people happy, and most of all working with my family. Mahle's is doing great and sometimes it makes me sad to think that I don't have anything to do with it anymore. In my heart I will ALWAYS have a piece of Mahle's. As Toby Keith says "I love that bar!" I have a feeling they will keep letting us in when we are in town. I got home around 10pm and I think we were all struggling to keep our eyes open for midnight. Happy New Year to everyone!!

The next day which was Sunday, which was the day we were leaving, was the Brown's / Steeler's game. Every time that they play in Cleveland we tailgate with our friend Bob. I am always to excited to do that. and especially for tist game. Well, like I said I think our week of fun caught up with everyone by Sunday. It worked out great though because they ended up tailgating at their office right by my parents house. We went and had a great time. Mom, Dad, Kris, Joe, Mike, Kate, Me, Aaron, and all the kids were there and it was a great way to spend the last few hours in Ohio!!! We had a 6 o'clock flight. Mike and Kate took Drew to the game and Kris and Joe took Alec. I think they all had a great time and the Steelers won. Not that it matters now though. Thank you to Bob for having us!

I can't thank everyone enough for everything, especially my mom and dad!!! Every time we come to Ohio it is better that the last. We have such a great time when we come there and it is always so hard to leave. I don't think I have ever left Ohio without a tear in my eye!! I think this was one of the best Christmas's ever!! We love you all so much and can't wait until next year!!

We made it home safely after a pretty exciting flight. To make a long story short, we had to do an emergency landing when we got to DFW because the pilot was not sure if our landing gear was down. I do have to say, it was pretty scary. As we landed we held those girl so tight and it ended up being one of the smoothest landings I have ever had!!! BTW, that was the girls last FREE flight. They will now be paying customers. I guess that means I can take a few more bags each time. Lol!!

Christmas in Ohio 2011

I am very sorry that it has taken me a week to get our Christmas vacation updated but, I brought more that just my family back from Ohio. I think we have all been a little under the weather since we got back. Anyway, we had a great time, a great Christmas, got to see everybody, and most of all spend a good amount of time with everyone. A big thank you goes out to all of you that made time for us.

I don't want to get into the details but, the night before we left Riley was up sick all night. It was the first time in her 23 months of life that she has vomited. Like I said before I won't get into the details but, that is not something I am good at. Give me dirty diapers all day and I am fine but, when it comes to that I get a little nausea. So, with us getting on the plane in the morning we were a little nervous. We had to wake the girls up in the morning to get to the airport. Riley seemed a little warm but, she did well. She slept almost the entire flight and Brianne kept Daddy busy the entire flight. Sorry Aaron!! I think we were all every excited to see Cleveland.

***I have to tell this quick story about the flight. It shows what a small world we really do live in. My mom and dad's next door neighbor has told my mom before that her daughter lives in Plano. So, we always say that I need to get in touch with her and introduce ourselves. You know, a little piece of home is always a great feeling. Well, when we got on the plane Aaron and I were next to each other with the aisle between us. The two seats next to me were empty so I let Riley sit for a minute. A young girl came up and sat down at the window and then another woman came and was in the middle seat. She sat down, I put her coat up top, and we started to chat. I asked if they were from Cleveland and the woman next to me said yes. To make a long story short, it ended up being Rose's (my parent's neighbor) daughter. Very nice and I am sure we will be in contact in the future.

Grandpa Mahle picked us up from the airport and it (as it always is) was so good to be home. This time was extra exciting for me because I don't think Aaron has ever been able to stay the whole time with us. We had over a week to relax and enjoy being with everyone. That night we went to Mahle's Restaurant (of course) and saw a ton of people. I was going to make a special trip up there to see most of the people but, we ended up seeing most of them that night. It was great to be back. The girls don't last that long up there anymore. They can't sit still for very long.

Our first night there is always the hardest as far as the girls getting used to their sleeping arrangements. Grandma and Grandpa did an awesome job on their room. They said that people in jail have more in their cells than the girls have in their room. My reason for this is so that they go to sleep and aren't playing with their toys. And, I have to say, they did GREAT!!! They put one full size mattress on the floor and nothing else in the room. They girls slept together and stayed all night. The only problem was that they were able to open the door and we didn't have a way to child proof. After a while it worked and they slept like babies. Lol!!!

The next morning we woke up to Joe and he had Christmas presents for Riley and Brianne. Because he is always so busy at the restaurant we love seeing "Chef" Joe in the morning at my parents. Joe and Patty got the girls Steeler hats, gloves, and slippers. And best of all, Sharpies!!!! They heard the story about the Thanksgiving marker mess and thought it would be funny. And, it was!!!

Bri was really into opening present this year. They didn't even have to be for her!!

The Steelers played on Christmas Eve and then Kris and I went to help at the restaurant and Aaron brought the girls up for a while.

We all got ready and headed to church. We started off in the regular pews and I learned two new things about church. My mom yelled at me for taking a picture and Aaron yelled at me for giving the girls food, as the priest came over to say hello. Those are two things that I never knew about church. I thought that when you had kids you had a free pass for some of those things. Guess not! After about 2 minutes we made our way to the cry room. Let's just say we stayed for the whole mass. We didn't sit much but, we stayed.

We left before everyone else and I knew that the first thing Aaron would do was change his clothes so we had to do our own family picture. We aren't dressed up together that often. I think it came out pretty good!!!

After a really good nap, we headed to Aunt Kris and Uncle Joe's. Uncle Joe's parents were in town from Houston and Aunt Ethel and her gang were on their way from Uniontown. So excited!!! We all haven't been together in a while!

We got some exciting news the day after Christmas. Brad and his girlfriend Jodi are engaged. I am honestly so happy for them but, the only part I don't like is that Brad is moving back to Uniontown. We are going to miss him like crazy. As we all know life takes you in all different directions and this is one of those that will be very bitter sweet. We love you guys and congratulations again!!

Tuesday we went to visit Kristen, Jay, Greyson, and Brady. I miss being able to see Kristen everyday. I think knowing that we are in the same situation now makes it even harder. We are both stay at home moms looking for things to do with the kids everyday. It would be so nice to be next door to each other at this stage in our lives.

Tuesday turned out to be the day I was waiting for. It snowed!!!! We got about 3 inches and it was the good snow, light and fluffy!!! I put the girls boots and coats on them and we headed outside. They lasted about 3 1/2 minutes and then we headed down to see Katie and Dave.

We headed down to Katie's parents to visit with them. They didn't come in until Christmas night. It was so good to see them. If you remember last Christmas we were in Hawaii with them.

Wednesday we went to the Christmas Story House. I have always known that it was in Cleveland and now having kids I really wanted to go. We made our way down to West 11th Street in Cleveland (which isn't the greatest area) and ran right into it. It was very easy to find and the tour consists of three houses on the block. As I said before, the area isn't the greatest but, as soon as you start walking from house to house you automatically get in the Christmas mood. The story behind it is that they filmed the outside scenes there but, the inside ones were filmed in Canada. They re staged the house to look the same and the museum had a lot of the actual things that were used in the movie. We all loved it!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Since everyone is going their separate ways for Christmas, we have been doing a lot of little celebrations. Kim, Tyler, and Logan left for New Jersey last week so we had Christmas pretty early. They got the girls the CUTEST sleeping bags. The boys received some new Rasor Scooters. We are going to miss you guys. We hope you have a wonderful holiday. See you in 2012!!!

Friday night we had Aaron's Christmas party over in Forth Worth. Brad stayed with the girls for the night and it was actually my FIRST night totally away from them. I think I did very well. I was ready for it. We had a wonderful time!! He definitely works with a great group of people!!

Santa decided to come a little early to Texas this year. We called and let him know that we were going to be in Ohio for the holidays so he came here a few days early. I had to work the night before so daddy had to put the cookies out, get the pictures, etc. I think you would have known that from the pictures without me telling you.

I want to thank our friends Don and Teresa for the table that they gave Riley and Brianne. They love it!!

Then on Sunday we celebrated Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Hupp. We celebrated a few days early since we won't be here. We will miss you and we love you!!! Grandma and Grandpa are helping to buy them their new "big girl" beds. Thank you sooooo much!!!

We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We love you all and hope the holidays are very special. See you all again in 2012!!

Vet's Day Out!!

We have this great tradition at the VFW every Christmas. We invite some vets from the Dallas VA to the post for a Christmas party. We serve them lunch, Santa comes to visit, and then we do some dancing. We always have such a great time and I think all of them really appreciate it. The motorcycle group escorts them from the VA and then it's up to us (the Ladies Aux.) to entertain them. This year we went to drop some desserts off and to watch daddy arrive on the motorcycle. I had all intentions of leaving after that but, we ended up staying and the girls danced for about 3 hours straight. They had such an awesome time and I think our guests enjoyed them too. Thank you to the VFW for letting us be a part of this day.

So the week after the VFW party we decided to try Santa at the mall. We did get a picture with Santa but, I am not going to tell you how we did it.

I need to give a quick update on the girls. I feel like I always tell you about what we do and not how they are. Both of them are very opinionated now. I guess that is my way of saying that they throw fits!! It is so annoying! "My kid will never drop to the floor in a public place and scream", is what I always said. I know you have all of these expectations before you have kids and then when they come along you learn to pick your battles. We are definitely very consistent and leave if they are acting up but, you still feel like you are doing something wrong. The thing I keep trying to remember is that they aren't "bad" they are "two"!!!! One thing that they are doing that I think is absolutely adorable is dancing. If you put CMT (country music television) on they immediately start dancing. And, they are really good. No idea where they got that from. They are turning into little ladies right before our eyes.

Aaron had drill all weekend so he was not able to come to the VFW to see Santa. They were having a pancake breakfast, gingerbread men decorating, and Santa was coming. We had a great time and a lot of our friends were there. They did not sit on Santa's lap but, I hope he didn't take it personally.

I think they ate more of the decorations for the cookies than what actually went on the cookies.

Thank you to the Ladies's Aux and Men's Aux. for all of the hard work that was put into the party. It turned out great and I think this is a wonderful tradition that we need to keep going. You all helped make a lot of people's Christmas better. Post 4380, you rock!!!

"Major" Daddy!!!

At the end of my last post I mentioned that Aaron was being promoted to Major. The day that he was keeping "low key" turned out to be much more, with many more people, and a very proud day for all of us.

For those of you that know Aaron way too well know that he is a very humble person. To make a long story short(er). Aaron has being waiting for a Major slot for a year and a half. Finally, he received the paperwork on Friday at 2:30pm. He had drill the next day and this is when he would be promoted. So, he called me to see if we wanted to drive over and be there for it. We absolutely wanted to be there. Brad was coming with us and Aaron mentioned asking our friend Charlie. So I asked if I needed to call his parents to ask them if they wanted to come but, he didn't want to bother anyone. Well, the next day Grandma Hupp called after reading my last post and asked what was going on with the promotion. I felt awful for not calling but, as I said before Aaron didn't want anyone to go out of their way to drive over to Fort Worth. I let her know the details and they were in, our friends Lew and Debby were coming and Jason, Kim, and the boys were also coming. I was so happy that there would be a crowd but, at the same time I didn't know how the ceremony worked so I didn't want us to be in anyone's way. We were welcomed with open arms.

So we all drive to Fort Worth for their 4:00pm formation and it starts at 5:00pm. But, who could ask for a better place to wait than a helicopter hanger. We had a Chinook and a Black hawk to play with for an hour.

The ceremony was perfect. Charlie and I were able to pin him and it was such an honor. I was so happy that were all there for it and I think deep down inside Aaron was very happy that things worked out the way that they did.

This is a little fuzzy but, after the ceremony he had to "walk the plank". They throw buckets of water on him.

After leaving Fort Worth, we made our way home (thank you Brad for driving) in the POURING rain. Went and had a great dinner and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

So we hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was great!! One reason it was so great was because Daddy was off of work ALL week. It is so nice to have him around all day everyday!!! I had a few things planned for the week but, I didn't want to be too busy!! Tuesday we decided to go to the Gaylord Texan. I have posted pictures of this place for past few years and every year that we go it gets more and more beautiful. As soon as you walk into the place, you are instantly in the Christmas mood!!

Wednesday we went and got our family pictures! Notice, I am not posting any!! None of them came out. No wait, one did but it was one of Riley in a little red car. We took the picture just to amuse her and it turned out to be the best. Have I mentioned that it is really hard to get a picture of two "almost" two year olds? Well, it's hard to get them both to look at you. And, at the same time! Hopefully by Christmas I will have something!

Thursday was Thanksgiving and I was so excited to watch the parade with the girls and make the tradional feather head bands. (Brad and I used to do that every year.) Aaron had to go to Jason and Kim's early in the morning to start the turkeys so the girls and I grabbed some paper, scissors, tape, and a marker to make our head bands. They turned out really well but, neither of them would put them on.

So I gathered up all of our art supplies up and took them downstairs to put everything away. While I was gone Bri was very busy on her own art project.

I am still finding little drawings everywhere. Sheets, pillows, walls, toys, and best of all her sister's face. It definitely could have been worse.

Later in the afternoon we headed over to Aunt Kim and Uncle Jason's for Thanksgiving dinner. Getting ready was very interesting. Riley definitely has a thing with shoes. And she has very good taste!

I was so proud to say that I french braided Brianne's hair for the day. And it looked soooo cute!

We had a great time, enjoyed being with everyone and as usual we ate way too much. Unfortunately Uncle Jay and Uncle Jarred were not able to make it this year. We missed you both so much!!

Friday was our lazy day. I say that because we didn't leave the house until around 4pm. And that was to go for a walk and to the park. I say it was our lazy day but, we got ALL of our Christmas decorations up. It feels so good to be done with all of that. Since we are gone for the whole week of Christmas, I like to get everything up so that we can enjoy it for a while. I will work on pictures with the girls in front of the tree for my next post.

On our walk we went to the lake and fed the ducks. It was beautiful out.

That evening we had Brad and Grandma and Grandpa Hupp over. Brianne was combing Grandpa's hair.

Saturday daddy went golfing and we had a birthday party to go to. Our friends Reese and Regan turned 2!!

Happy Veteran's Day to all of our Veteran's out there. Thank you for all of the sacrifices that every single one of you have made. Friday November 11 (Veteran's Day) was our Harley Davidson raffle at the VFW. This has been an event in the making for about 11 months. The night turned out to be AWESOME. We raised a ton of money for the VFW through the raffle and the bar had it's best night EVER!!! What made the night even better is that the winner of the bike is a very active member of the post!!!

We have definitely been enjoying the weather for the last month. It is November but, it sure doesn't feel like it. We take advantage of every day that we can play outside.

Last week, daddy called and said I am going to fly by to see you. He has only done this one other time and it was so cool. The girls were really little that time and I think I remember Brianne getting scared from the noise. This time, the LOVED it and so did mommy. It was very cool.

Last Sunday we had a dinner at the VFW to honor not one but four Medal of Honor recipients. It was one of the coolest thing I have ever experienced. I am so honored to have been a part of it and as Ladies Auxiliary Chaplain I was also very honored to say the opening prayer.

Halloween 2011

I can't believe I forgot to mention in the last two posts about some very special birthdays. I am so sorry to everyone. First of all, Happy Birthday to our cousin Logan who turned 6 at the beginning of October. And then, Happy Birthday to Aunt Kris and Uncle Jason. Their birthdays are one day apart. Finally Happy Birthday to our very special friend Kimmy!! We love you all and hope you had great birthdays!!!

I feel like we were celebrating Halloween for the whole month of October. Which is fine with me because it is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is getting cool and football is on. By the time Halloween rolled around we were ready for it to be over.

A few weeks ago, we had our first Halloween party at the clubhouse in our development. It was a Saturday so the girls dressed up as WVU cheerleaders. (Thank you to Alayna Krynicki for all of their Halloween costumes this year.)

We have been going and doing so much lately and Riley and Brianne just keep amazing me. I said that it in my last post but, I still can't get over it. They are so smart when it comes to figuring out how to get to what they want. I learned a while ago that they can now reach the counters. They will reach up, feel around and grab whatever they can. Well, I guess they needed a better way. And, they figured it out. They pushed the foot stools in from the living room.

They are still doing so well in their "big girl" beds. I guess they aren't very picky when it comes to comfort. This is how I found Brianne the other day!!

Then we had a Halloween parade at the mall with PAMOM.

The weekend of Halloween I had to work. I usually don't dress up but, if I have somewhere to go I am definitely in. This year I decided to be "Harley Barbie".

Then, Monday came and Halloween was finally here. Riley and Brianne were now Steeler cheerleaders. They were beyond cute. And, it was a great conversation piece while we trick or treated. We had so much fun and the girls really got the hang of it. Our friends Kimmy, Max, Courtney, Rob, and Robin all came over to celebrate with us. I think we owe Max for showing the girls the ropes. The "big" girls took Riley, Brianne, and Max trick or treating and the "big" boys stayed at the house to hand out candy. Max knew exactly what to do and after about two houses so did Riley and Brianne. I had to remind them a few times to say "thank you" but, other than that they definitely got it. They also realized how GREAT candy is.

October is my favorite time of the year. It's fall,there is the pumpkin patch, it's Halloween, the weather is great (finally getting a little cooler here in TX), it's football season, and Grandma and Grandpa Mahle came to visit!! I love when they come down and we always have so much fun. They got here on Thursday and we just caught up. I think they just like to sit and watch the girls sometimes after they haven't seen them in while. You know, to see all their new tricks.

And, they really do have new tricks everyday. To let you in on some of them, they now are having full blown conversations with each other, listening to mommy and daddy really well, not using the stroller very often, walking up and down the front walk with their walkers, and so much more that I can't think of right now. Oh, the best thing is when you sneeze Riley and Brianne will now say "bless you". I was changing Riley's diaper one day and when I sneezed she said it. I almost fell over. Now, they say it to each other when they sneeze. We are working on the "thank you " part. They will also say it sometimes if you say "shoes" or you cough. It was the cutest thing ever. They say that kids learn by example and it is so true. Even the bad stuff. I was making grilled cheese the other day and burned it. Well, when I said a bad word Brianne said it right back to me. I guess we need to start being a little more cautious unless we want some little truck drivers.

Friday I had a big day planned for everyone. Aaron had taken off of work and we were going to take G&G Mahle and G&G Hupp on the tour of the Cowboys Stadium. The girls and I have done it with Brad but, we were ready to do it again.

I know that this is Cowboys's Stadium but, I think that they were more excited because they were running on the field where the Steelers played the Super Bowl XLV.

Saturday Aaron and I had the chance to go out on the bike and we took it. We went with some people from the VFW and had a great time. I miss it! That night we went out for our friend Kimmy's birthday. We went bowling. I haven't been bowling since before I got married. We had a awesome time and I hope Kimmy had a wonderful birthday.

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Last week we went to TWO different pumpkin patches. The first one was at the Arboretum with a bunch of the moms and it was beautiful. The only thing I don't like about that one is that it is not a farm. All the kids had a great time and like I have mentioned before, the weather is finally becoming Fall.

And then on Saturday we went to the real one (as I call it) in Celina on the farm. I have gone to this one every year that we have lived here. Yes, even before the girls came along. This event was with the PAMOM group and I am always excited when Aaron can go with us. The weather was perfect!

Oh my, what a busy month!!

Since our last post we have been pretty busy and this last weekend was CRAZY!!! I can't tell you exactly what has kept us so busy but, I know that time is flying!!

Not this past weekend but, the weekend before Daddy had drill so we were on our own. St Jude (our church) had a carnival on Saturday so Grandma Hupp, our friend Maggie, Brooks, and Carter, and me and the girls all went. We went last year and it was great but, the girls couldn't really do anything. This year they loved it. We went on a hayride, played in a jump house, saw a firetruck, and played a game or two.

Then Sunday Brad was over so we ran around and did some errands. We got our first pumpkins for the year. I love this time of year. And, the weather is finally getting just right.

So now when the girls get up they usually come out of their room and right downstairs. It's a good thing except when they get up at 4:30am. Which has now happened a few time. The other day I went up to see how they were and Brianne was sitting on the side of Riley's bed waiting PATIENTLY for her sister to wake up!! So cute!!

I figured out that Riley and Brianne are definitely going to have a thing for shoes. Every time I get ready and they are in the bathroom with me they go straight for the closet. It keeps the occupied for a while but, afterwards I have a huge mess to clean up. I guess they couldn't figure out which pair to wear this time.

We went to the Fort Worth Zoo last week with the PAMOM girls and had a great time. It is such a great zoo but, it is such a long drive.

Can I brag for a minute? The girls are sleeping GREAT!!! I can't believe how well they have done with the transition. I did not have one moment this week where I wanted to pull my hair out. I am such a proud mama!!!!

Last Saturday we went to Oktoberfest in McKinney. Our friend Christine was meeting us there and I could not wait to see her. We know her down at Fort Hood and when the girls were born she was deployed. We haven't been able to hook up since she got home and now she is moving to Virginia. (I swear half of the people we know now live in VA.) We met up with her and her brother's family and had a great evening. Aaron and I are both German and we have both been to Germany so therefore we both have a huge love for Germany and Oktoberfest. (Or maybe it has something to do with the beer and brats.) We had an awesome time and it was so good to see Christine before she left. I miss her already!!

I think I officially had a "the girls are growing up meltdown" the other night. Since we have been back from Ohio I have not gotten them out of their cribs once. They get out themselves and come right downstairs. Monday morning they walked into our room at 6:10 am. I think they were still on Ohio time. It was so crazy to see because that had not happened here yet. At least they found our room okay! So during the week I talked to a few people and got some different opinions. I knew for our own sanity that we needed to take the next step. They make something called "crib tents" but, I could never do that to them. I would feel like I was putting them in a cage. To those you you that have used them, I am sorry but that is my opinion. One of the girls I talked to told me that she took EVERYTHING out of their room except for their beds and some toys, shut the door, and if they slept they slept if they didn't, they didn't. I liked that idea because then there would be nothing in there that they could hurt themselves on and we would now have nap/quiet time. Time for them to rest and time for mommy to get some stuff done.

We had a new routine this week and thank god it did not last long. Now that we are thinking back it's funny,but last week, it was exhausting. We would put them down for a nap or for bedtime and in about 5 minutes they would be standing next to us in the kitchen. It was cute the first 5 times and then we got tired and I think they got tired. They would give up after a while.

After talking to people and getting an opinion that I liked we put our plan into action. Thursday when Aaron got home from work we took the dresser, both cribs, and the bookshelf out of the room. I knew it was going to be a big change but, I never expected the emotional part of it to hit me so hard! We needed a few batteries, cordless night light, etc. so I ran to Target. When I got back the cribs were down and it hit me! My little babies aren't little babies anymore. I remember when they were in the same crib.

I can't believe how fast they really do grow up. You almost wish you had a pause button to enjoy every single moment with them again and again. It always comes back to that great piece of advice I got right before my wedding, "Step back every once in a while and take everything in. Enjoy every single day!" I really do live by that now. Now don't get me wrong, I still have those very frustrating days and I get mad at myself for letting them get to me. But, I try my hardest to let the little things go and realize what is important!!

Speaking of frustrating days, Thursday and Friday were two of mine. But, I will come back to that. And, remember how I said that when I look back on last week we can laugh now, you will see why in a minute. So after the cribs were gone we put the crib mattresses on the floor. We are still debating on toddler beds. I think we might just go straight to twin beds. Their beds are on the floor and pushed into the corners. They really think it is cool and now they can share a bed when they want. (which they do often) Thursday night we put them in their beds, shut the door, and came downstairs. They did cry for about 15 minutes and then it was quiet. We waited about and hour until they were really asleep and then we went to check on them. Brianne was in Riley's bed and Riley's was right in front of the door. We could hardly open it. We put her in Bri's bed and they slept until 7:30 the next morning. I am so proud of them. Then when it came to nap time, mommy really wanted them to take one and they wanted nothing to do with it. I think back and realize that every time we start a new routine, there is always getting used to it. Not just them but, for me too. They never took a nap!! That night they went down really good again. They cried for about 2 minutes. Friday, the whole nap thing happened again and by the time I had to go to work I was exhausted. By Saturday, they were going right down for naps and for bedtime. That was two very frustrating days that I wish I could have back. I would do it different. I think if I would not have tried so hard to get them to go down, we all would have been fine. Lesson learned!!

People keep telling me how lucky I am to have such great sleepers and I know I am. But, I really think it has to do with consistency. We realize how important a routine is and that is why we try and stick with it the best that we can. (Aaron has really taught me that.) If you get the routine down and stay consistent then it makes the kids very happy and your life a lot easier!!

September in Ohio!!

Oh, how I miss the fall weather in Ohio!! The girls and I left for Ohio on September 7th. As I said in the last post, Aunt Ethel and her gang were down here for Labor Day. So, we took advantage of having them on the way home. We flew into Pittsburgh and then Grandma and Grandpa Mahle met us there. Riley and Brianne did so good on the plane. I had Blake beside me with Brianne and A. Ethel and U. Barry had Riley. Brianne was WIDE awake the whole time. Riley slept for a while and when she woke up we had to switch. Aunt Ethel and Rich have IPads so they downloaded some of their shows to entertain Riley and Bri. It only worked for a little while. Let's just say, thank goodness it is a 2 1/2 hour flight.

We saw Franco as soon as we landed.

We got into Pittsburgh, got the shuttle to their hotel and G & G Mahle were there waiting for us. It was soooooo good to see them. We made the journey back to Ohio while the girls slept most of the way. Thank you agin to the Victor's for EVERYTHING!!!!

When we got to G & G Mahle's the girls were exhausted but, UP!!!! It took a little while but, they finally gave in. The next day we started to see everyone. I keep saying, what I love most about going home is the fact that my parents have a revolving door at their house. Someone is always coming and going. We woke up the next morning and had a dance party with G, G, Aunt Kris, Uncle Joe, Joe, and us!! It was great at 8am!!

We got ready and headed over to see Kristen, Greyson, and Brady. It was our first time meeting Brady. He was born July 3rd!!! He is beautiful. I miss being able to see them everyday!!! We didn't leave the house and had a great playdate!! The interesting part came next. When we got home, I put the girls down for a nap, left the room and went downstairs. All of a sudden I heard little footsteps coming down the steps. YEP, they can now crawl out of the pack and plays. It was crazy to see them walk in after you put them to bed!! This made for a big adjustment that I wasn't expecting.

Friday we spent the day at home and guess what, it RAINED!! We haven't seen rain all summer. Aunt Kris brought us some strollers to play with (they LOVE them) so we took a walk and danced in the rain!!

Saturday the 10th was Grandpa Mahle's birthday!!! Happy Birthday Grandpa!!! Mike and I took Riley, Bri, Drew, and Grant to "The Jumpyard" It was HIS idea!! I was so excited to go!! Mike and I don't get to do stuff like this often!! I think we all had fun!

Then guess what Grandpa Mahle got to do for his birthday! Alec came down for the evening and the rest of of went to a fundraiser for Alec's football team. It was a blast and I won two baskets. The two I wanted!!! I won a "Harley Davidson" basket and a basket FULL of bows for the girls. I love hanging out with everyone and we always have such a good time.

Sunday was Grandpa Hupp's birthday. We weren't able to be in Texas to celebrate but, I know he had a good birthday!! They had a big party for him while we were gone!! Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

We also went to watch Drew play football. I saw something that I haven't seen in a while, MUD!! And a lot of it. Drew had mud head to toe and so did his biggest fan, Grant!! I love being able to go to these games. He did so good.

We went to watch the Steeler's lose their first game of the season. It wasn't very fun to watch! They lost.

Monday we went to the Memphis Kiddy Park. I have always heard about it but, I have never been to it! It is a park that has been there for like 40 years and you have to be under 50 inches to ride. Kate, Mom, and I took the girls and Grant. We have never been anywhere like this before so it was very interesting to see which way the girls went. It ended up that Brianne was afraid of everything and Riley was beyond daring. I actually thought it would be the other way around.

Brianne did go on the roller coaster before she knew any better. I went on too and it was really scary. Riley and Grant had front row seats and loved every minute.

Wednesday was Grandma Mahle's birthday. Happy Birthday Grandma!! I know, a lot of September birthdays!! My Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Gus came to visit. We haven't seen them since last summer so it was so good to see them.

That evening I ended up going to the restaurant so that my mom could stay home and enjoy then evening. EVERYONE also came to celebrate her birthday so I think she had the farthest thing from a quiet evening. And, I know that is exactly what she wanted.

Thursday some of my friends and I went to the mall for a little play date. I miss them all so much and it was so good to spend the time with them. I finally got to meet A.J. Krynicki. That is my friend Katie's son. She was pregnant with him when we were in Hawaii for Christmas. He was born on January 5th. He is a doll.

That night we had our "mommy's night out". Love you all!!

Friday was the day that Daddy was arriving. The girls AND myself were so excited. It had been over a week. We went to pick him up at the airport and we waited for him in the baggage claim. As soon as they saw him, they ran right to him. They missed him so much!!

That night I had planned for all of my friends to meet at the restaurant and I have to say it worked out PERFECTLY. I got to see everyone, all the kids were so good, and most of all everyone had a great time. Thank you again to mom and Mike for making room for us.

Sunday was the annual breakfast at Huntington Beach. Some of our very special friends from the restaurant host this event every year. I am so happy that we were there to be a part of it this year. It is right on the water so you know I had to take a photo op!!

When we got home that day we had a few more hours before our flight so we had my favorite meal, pork and sauerkraut, and also celebrated Alec's birthday. His was the next day!!! Happy Birthday buddy! We love you!

Our flight was that evening and as I always say, it is so hard to leave. All my trips home are great but, this one was extra great for some reason. It was so relaxed, I got to see everyone, and most of all Aaron was there with us for part of it. Thank you again to everyone who made time for us and took care of us while we were there. Especially Grandma and Grandpa Mahle who let two little girls, one big girl, and a big boy turn their house upside down. Mom, Dad, Kris, Joe, Mike, Kate, and all the boys, we love you guys so much and miss you like crazy!! We will see you again in a few months. Love you!!!!!!!!!!!

Labor Day Weekend 2011

Aunt Ethel, Uncle Barry, Rich, and Blake arrived on Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend. I can't tell you how much I love it when people come to visit!! The day they got here we all went out for some lunch and then that evening we went to the VFW for some karaoke. Aaron and Uncle Barry stayed home with the girls and the rest of us went to sing! We ended up staying and closing the V that night and I think besides being really really tired everyone had a great time. Their flight was at 6 that morning so they were almost up for 24 hours straight! I always love showing off my family to all of our Texas friends!!

Sunday we went to Bobby and Meredith's for a pool party!! They always make us feel so comfortable and we ALWAYS have a great time. Thanks again for having us!

Sunday night is when we went to Billy Bob's. We went to see Chris Cagle! We ate dinner at Risky's beforehand and then headed over for the concert. I think Blake was in her glory and the rest of us were also enjoying every minute. They only bad thing about concerts at Billy Bob's is that they don't start until 10:30.

So in the words of my friend Sheila, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!!!! I am so slacking at this blog thing. I need to let you know how Riley and Brianne have turned into little ladies.

By the way, we did not beat the record of days over 100 degrees. On the last day, it was 99 degrees!! It still hasn't really rained for a LONG time!

August has been very busy for us and now we are at Labor Day weekend already. Aunt Ethel, Uncle Barry, Blake, and Rich just arrived today and I am heading back north with them next week. You know how my updates are whenever I get back from Ohio, long!!! So I need to get August in here.

First of all, we found a fun new place to go to. Our friend Alanna celebrated her birthday at a place called JumpStreet!!! It's a huge building filled with trampolines. We loved it and had so much fun!! Happy Birthday Alanna! Thank you for inviting us!

That following weekend was FULL of parties for us! Saturday during the day we had our friend's Katy and Andy's birthday party at their house. They just turned two!! It was a swimming party and they have a bunch of toys in their backyard!! Of course the day we have two outdoor parties, it rains for the first time in 40 days!!! Lol!! Actually, it was really nice because it cooled off for a little while!! Happy Birthday to Katy and Andy!!! Thanks for inviting us!

That afternoon our friends Bobby and Meredith had their annual summer party!! Grandma and Grandpa Hupp came over to hang with the girls and mommy and daddy got to go out for the evening.

The next day we had ANOTHER birthday party. Our friend Brooks turned 2 and his party was at Pump it Up!! We love that place.

That week we found a new car on the PAMOM website. The only problem was that they only had one! So, we have to share for now!

The next week we had a fun day planned. Our friend Charlie celebrates his birthday every year by going skydiving. We were going to watch Charlie, Jason, and David jump.

Summer fun Grandma Mahle's visit.

I can't believe that August is almost half over. Where did the summer go? I guess time really does fly when you are having fun!

A few weeks back we went to see Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, and Jared Neiman. It was a great concert and I love all of them. The only problem was, was that the tickets said 4:45 and the concert didn't start until 7:30. AND, it was 105 degrees. Thank god our seats were on the shady side of the stadium. We had a great time and all of those guys were great!!

Two weeks ago we went out to lunch with Grandma Hupp and our friend Norma. Thanks again for inviting us ladies. We had a great time!!!

Summer has been so great so far and to make things even better Grandma Mahle came for a visit last week. I don't know if I have changed in the last couple of months or if the girls have something to do with our visits now but, last week was such a great visit with my mom. I have a great time with her every time but, this was EXTRA great! I even told her, I said if I was a little uptight the first year and a half of the girls life I am so sorry. I just feel so much more relaxed now when we are out, they are so much fun, they are so independent, and most of they are very well behaved (for the most part)! She came in last Wednesday and as soon as we picked her up we went straight to Pump It Up! We had a playgroup there with PAMOM. There were four of us, all with twins around the same age. We were sitting there thinking, "this is what octomom has"! Lol!! The girls love it there and it really tires them out!!! The funny thing is, this place is filled with HUGE blow up jumpy things and all Riley wants to do is ride around in this random toy car they have. Of course there is only one so when she is told to let someone else have a turn she freaks out!!! I think we need to start writing our letters to Santa now! One thing I am starting to realize is that I DO need to buy two of certain things. I said I never would but........ We are going to a birthday party there this weekend so I will try and get some good pictures of them.

Thursday was the "reason" (if we ever really need one) mom came to visit. I was asked to work with a friend in Fort Worth all day. It worked out so well because mom had the girls all morning by herself and then Grandma Hupp came over for the afternoon to help/hang out! I love the fact that the girl got to spend the whole day with both of their grandmas. Those are the special times that stick with you forever!! They said they were very good and I am sure Grandmas wouldn't lie for their grand kids, would they?

Like I said before, we had such a great weekend that all this writing will never be able to express that. My mom and I are very low maintenance girls and it is very easy to entertain us. Friday we ended up going to Walmart and then to Chik Fil A for lunch. Doesn't sound very exciting but, we had such a good time. I think what it is, is that I want my mom (and I think she wants to also) to experience the everyday stuff that we do that she doesn't see on an everyday basis. Riley and Brianne are growing up so fast and everyday they change in some way.

Of course while we were at Walmart Grandma bought them something. They always play with my laptop so I thought they were ready for their own. And, boy was I right, the LOVE them. Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Mahle. Now Riley and Brianne will definitely be the geniuses that I have always thought they would be.

Daddy had drill all weekend so we missed him again. It feels like he has been there a lot lately. Saturday we got up and somehow we started doing yard work. (Brad was over. Lucky him.) I love my mom, she knows what I don't like to do and she always helps me out with it. One of those things are windows. We washed all of our back and front windows. They look great. If we see any little hand prints on them I bet I can tell you who did it!!

Later that afternoon we went swimming. We had a drink together, splashed in the pool, caught some rays, and enjoyed every minute of it!! Riley carries her monkey EVERYWHERE, and apparently that doesn't exclude the pool! Monkey had a grand ole time taking a dip! Poor thing!

Saturday night I had to work so mom and Brad came up to hang out. It was a very busy night and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Sunday we went over to our friends house to swim and then headed home to wait for Daddy!

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post. I do apologize. Grandma Mahle came for a visit, I have been working a lot, Daddy has had drill a lot lately, and I guess those are all of my excuses!!

First of all, Texas has had about 39 days of weather over 100 degrees and about the same without rain. The weather in Texas has never bothered me until this year!! Some people love it but, I am definitely not one of them. Don't get confused though, I still don't miss the 6 months of cold either!! I guess I need to move somewhere where it is 75 all year long. I think it's harder this year because I have two little girls that want to be outside all day!! I figure another month and then it will back to the 90's and we will be able to go to the zoo!!!

We went for the girls 18 month appointment last week and let me just say it was very loud. Every time we go they act so differently and I never know what to expect. This time we go in and from the moment the nurse came in to the time we left Riley and Brianne screamed. And I mean they were not happy. There was a time when both of them were cuddled in my lap and holding on for dear life. (I have noticed that there are many times lately that I don't have a camera available. And this was one of them.) Finally when the doctor came in he said something about "stranger anxiety". I know they have been a little clingy lately but, I sure hope this doesn't last. All I kept saying was, "This happens all the time, right?" They politely agreed. I guess no matter how much you expose your kids to other people they can still become a little scared at times!!

All that matters is that they were completely healthy and they are growing like weeds!!

I need to start by saying congratulations to our friends Kristen and Jason. Kristen has Greyson who was born 2 weeks after Riley and Brianne. Well, she added another boy to the mix, Brady Alexander DeSarle was born on July 3rd, 2011 at 4:11am. He was about 2 weeks early and definitely a surprise. They did just what I like, they kept us all in suspense until he arrived. I knew it was a boy the whole time. Welcome to the world Brady!! We can't wait to meet you!! Love you guys!!!

So, I was thinking the other day about one of the pieces of advice I got while I was pregnant. I was told to enjoy leaving the house with only a purse. (or basically just stuff for me) When the girls were babies it took a while to get ready to leave. Between getting them dressed, bottles made, diaper bag packed, and most of all BINKIES!!! Never left the house without them. (Hate to say it but, I still don't!) So, where I am going with this is that I am so trained now and good at getting the stuff ready and in the car before they wake up and then when they get up, they are dressed and I put them right in the car. It is such a routine now that I don't even think about it. When I go somewhere without them, I feel like I am totally forgetting something. I guess as they say, "it gets easier"!!

The girls are at such a fun stage now and I am trying to enjoy every single minute. They are pretty good at listening to you when you are out UNLESS they are tired or hungry. But, I guess these are the things that you learn along the way. I try to avid these situations by leaving right before they start. Of course you can't always avoid them so this is when the binkies come into play!!! We're not bashful!! When they turn 6 maybe we will try something else!

One of the new things we are dealing with is this "mommy stage". It is very flattering and I love my babies but, I am totally that mom that wants them to go to other people. I thought I have raised them to be this way but, I guess we have hit a bump in the road. I am pretty sure it is normal !! ( I hope it is!) If we are out with friends and I need to do something I will give them to someone and walk away. They are usually crying but, when I come back they are totally fine. UNTIL, they see me! I have always wondered why kids always throw fits when their moms are around and they don't when their moms aren't around. Now I understand a little better!!! Hopefully it's a phase and they will SOON grow out of it!!!

We went to a magic show last week and all I can say is that it was PACKED!!! It was really cute but, I think that they are still a little too young for something like that!!

Did you all think I forgot the most important part of the week? Well, I didn't!!! As I said before week was wonderful and the highlight of the week was Kris and Joe's wedding. Everything turned out perfect. Kris was a BEAUTIFUL bride, Joe looked VERY handsome, and I think that I can say that everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest!

VACATION

I don't even know where to begin describing how great this summer's vacation was. All of our vacations are usually pretty great but, this one tops them all. We had a great house, great family, great friends, and most of all great times!!!! I am truly so blessed to have the family that I do and I thank God every day! The times that we spend together are always so memorable!

First of all, this was our first "long" driving vacation! The drive was 12 hours and it didn't scare me one bit. My cousin Brad was driving with us so I knew we had three drivers. We left here at 7pm on Friday night hoping that the girls would sleep the whole way. They sleep from 7:30pm-7:30am at home so why wouldn't they do it in the car. Well, it was a little different but, not much. I was very impressed with my two little travelers. They ended up falling asleep around 9:30 and the only time the woke up was when we stopped for gas at 11:30pm. (because of the lights) Aaron was the driver and he wasn't letting anyone else in. He can't sit still so he needed to be the one driving. Well, around 4am he hit the wall. (not literally, thank God) We were in Gulfport Mississippi and we all agreed that we needed to sleep. The girls were still sleeping at this point. We got a room and slept til 8am and then started on our way to Florida!!

We arrived around 2:30 and it was the greatest feeling in the world. One, to actually be there and two, to see everyone!! (I miss you all so much.)

I am sorry that is is a little delayed but, we need to take a minute and say Happy Father's Day again!!! We had a full day of fun. We we started at our friend's Bobby and Meredith's house. We swam, played volleyball, and had some lunch!! Later that afternoon we went over to Uncle Jason and Aunt Kim's house to celebrate with Grandpa Hupp! We swam more, ate more, and of course played more. We had a great day and we hope Daddy, Grandpa Mahle, Grandpa Hupp, and all of our other daddies out there had a GREAT day!! We love you all very much!!

So, here in Texas now is the time when you either have to be in water or you stay inside. It is almost 100 degrees every day now. It is very hard to go out in the afternoon unless you are going swimming. Thank God Riley and Brianne are loving the water. I was a little worried bout Brianne for a while but, now she LOVES it!!

We went and saw a band last Thursday evening at a shopping area near us. It was a gorgeous night (and hot) and we had a great time. Brad was able to come along!

Then last Friday we went over to our friends Andy and Katie's house for a fun day filled with water. We had so much fun and they have a huge water slide. I don't know if it was too big but, the girls never got into it. Maybe tomorrow! All they wanted to do was drive the little cars around!

Sunday we went out to dinner for Grandma Hupp's birthday. (It was really on the 10th though.) It was a great dinner and it was so nice to have everyone together. Happy Birthday Grandma!!! We hope you had a great day!

That evening we headed ove to Maggie and Eric's house. We were having a surprise graduation party for our friends Kimmy and Jon! Congratulations to both of you! We are so proud of you guys!!! It happened to be game 6 of the NBA finals and the Mavericks needed to win to be the champs. They did it!!! I think everyone in Dallas went nuts that night. AND, what is so funny is that I think everyone in Cleveland was probably going just as nuts. LeBron James was on the losing team. I was so proud of Riley and Brianne, they stayed up until 10pm!!! I guess they are getting ready for vacation.

So I have skipped over a lot in the last month that I want to share with everyone!

I love shopping at Target and I have not done it much lately because I never knew that they had carts for two kids. Now, thanks to my friend Kimmy I know that they do. Yippee!!

Last month, the Villages of Fairview had a "Bow Wow Luau". In my head it was just another time for Riley and Brianne to wear their Hawaiian dresses. We headed up there and it was kind of crazy. Sounds weird but, we decided not to take Harley and boy were we right. She didn't miss out on anything. We decideed to stay and have some lunch and watched the doggy talent show. I think Brianne wanted to jump right in there with them and show them what was up!!

Redneck Huppies!! Daddy bought the girls a pink rifle!!!! When we were at the lake all the guys needed to go into town to go and get a cooler at The Academy (sporting goods store) so they went on their way and we went out on the boat. When they got back Daddy had a new "present" and I emphasize singular! He quit talking about it and went out and bought them a pink rifle. I don't know exactly what it is, 22, 44, 66 whatever!! But, i do know that it is NOT a BB gun and it is pink and very cute. There is no way that I wanted him to buy two of them but, they are getting to the point with other things that you NEED to buy two. Maybe in the future we will find another one.

Aaron did a trip to Reno last week for work. What his company does is they take three helicopters out to Reno to the Hilton's ranch for an event. Aaron is one of the pilots who deliver the helicopters. It's a long two days but, what a beautiful flight. He took some pictures this time!

For those of you that have no idea what corn hole is, it's the bean bag game. It's where you throw the bean bags onto the board and try and get it into the hole. I have learned that corn hole might be a northern term!! Lol!! And, Riley is really good at it!
